Good start for ITERA-Katusha in France

The Russian continental team ITERA-Katusha took a good start at the 2.2 stage race Tour de Gironde in France. At the first stage, in the team time trial for 21,8 km in Pian Médoc ITERA-Katusha showed third time, just 11 seconds behind the stage winner – Spanish team Euskadi.

Second place at the stage took Cyclingteam Jo PIels, who lost 5 seconds to the winner.

At the second stage (113,9 km from Saint Aubin du Médoc to Biganoc), ITERA-Katusha once again was among the leaders – Viktor Manakov placed 5th in the massive sprint, won by Rens Te Stroet from Cyclingteam Jo PIels. The stage podium was completed by his teammate Geert Van Der Weist and Marc Sarreau from Armee de Terre.

After two stages Parlo Lechuga from Euskadi is the current overall leader; Viktor Manakov is 11th with 11 seconds behind the leader.
